Arthur J. Schuldt, Jr.

Art’s affordable housing expertise, both as an architect and a developer, is a valuable asset to the team. His architectural career started in 1976. Having formed a successful architectural practice in 1982, SGB Architects has evolved into a nationally recognized firm supporting public housing authorities as well as private non-profits in their efforts to redesign quality housing and expand new product.

As managing partner in SGB, Mr. Schuldt has overseen the design and construction of over 15,000 units of affordable housing involving both new construction and renovation.

His effort in designing housing to meet the needs of low income persons has gained national attention. He has always been an advocate of affordable housing and is a member of several state and national organizations, including NAHRO, Louisiana Housing Council, Texas Housing Association and the American Association of Homes and Services for the Aging. He was one of the founding board members of Providence House, a local family homeless shelter and currently serves as Vice-Chairman of the Salvation Army in Shreveport. Recently, Mr. Schuldt was appointed by the Mayor to serve on the Board of the Bossier Parish Metropolitan Planning Commission.

As a partner in Housing Solutions Alliance, LLC, Mr. Schuldt plays a key role in assisting public housing authorities across four states in the development of affordable housing outside of HUD funding. His role covers all aspects of development, from site selection and negotiations to preparing applications to state finance agencies and finalizing financing to overseeing construction and lease-up activities.
